VIA Riyadh features Saudi Arabia’s first St. Regis Hotel, as well as elite shopping outlets, cinemas and an international food market, as part of a larger initiative under the Saudi Vision 2030 plan to modernise the country and develop its entertainment sector to help diversify the economy.
The architecture integrates the contemporary lifestyle while evoking the local identity and heritage of the Kingdom
General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Chairman Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Sheikh commented: “VIA Riyadh features a five-star hotel, Regis, 22 luxury stores, 15 restaurants and cafes, seven cinemas, and an international food market.”
Construction of the area, which is built in the Salmani style – a process based on six core values outlined by King Salman: authenticity, continuity, human-centricity, liveability, innovation and sustainability – took 20 months. The result is an architecture that integrates the contemporary lifestyle while evoking the local identity and architectural heritage of the Kingdom.

The opening ceremony highlighted the new zone, which is characterised by a blend of authentic and modern architecture, but it is also designed to provide comfort and relaxation through immense green spaces, artistic sculptures and perennial trees near Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter.
This new destination also has a theatre for live concerts, which was launched on 18 May by celebrated Saudi singer Abdul Majeed Abdullah.
